We are recruiting Audit professionals at the Senior Associate level to join our Audit team in Canberra. We have some of the most sophisticated audit clients in Canberra and the surrounding regions – ranging from brand name technology companies, some of Australia’s most interesting commercial Government enterprises, leaders in the power and utilities and real estate and construction sectors, an iconic Canberra sports team, and a number of the world’s largest defence industry companies providing services to the Department of Defence.

Your key responsibilities

  • Leading fieldwork, leading client relationships, managing projects, coaching and mentoring more junior team members and keeping engagement leaders updated on progress and issues.
  • Effectively designing and executing audit processes with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters, for example revenue recognition, fair value accounting, and long-term contracts.
  • Engaging with client management and providing advice and professionalism throughout the year, including identification of areas for improvement in clients’ business processes.
  • Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues.
  • Understanding our clients’ unique ambitions and needs to have a well-rounded view of business strategy and the audit risks associated.

What we are looking for:

  • Current Australian security clearance, or the ability to obtain one. This is required to service Government audits. Australian citizenship is required to obtain an Australian Government security clearance.
  • Accounting degree or qualification.
  • Proven experience leading the planning, execution and reporting components of audits.
  • An inquisitive mind, demonstrating curiosity to understand our team, our clients, and the business ecosystem.
  • Proven track record with developing and maintaining team motivation and client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

The salary range is AUD 64,900 to AUD 100,500 inclusive of superannuation dependent on skills, experience and work location.
